Masterplan for an Italian Ready Meals Site

This site had been operational for over 35 years as a food business and had site infrastructure and processing equipment that were a combination of new and old spanning over 20 years. The site is in an industrial area and land locked all around with space constraints. We were engaged to look at doubling site weekly output and explore automation opportunities to reduce unit cost.

We carried out a detailed study to fully understand the business including: operations; engineering; site services; labour cost model; supply chain; storage on site; and current issues. We also used our experience working with equipment manufacturers to identify correct automation opportunities and other analysis tools that would enable the site to double the site output while reducing unit cost. 

We presented the options to the business leaders with site layouts; production models; equipment list; and services upgrade requirements to double the site capacity. The business agreed with the proposed plan and instructed us to carry out the detailed design of Phase 1 with the aim of submitting a detailed capital sanction proposal to business leaders to approve the funding and deliver the project.
