Compliance - Safety First

CDM Regulations 2015

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 or CDM, are the main regulations for managing the health and safety of everyone involved within construction projects.

CDM applies to all building and construction work including new builds, refurbishment and repair projects, demolition, conversions and property maintenance.  The purpose of the regulations was to ensure that the entire “project team” are focused on safety first, to improve project planning and management to enable early identification of hazards and place responsibilities and efforts where they can most benefit the health, safety and wellbeing of all involved.

Outsourcing elements of your Construction and CDM Health and Safety Process to a specialist and experienced team not only ensures compliance with CDM Legislation to protect your people and those they interact with, but will also save valuable time.

At Ishi Projects, we can provide a full support including:

  • Risk Assessments

  • Site Audits & Inspections

  • COSHH Assessments & Training

  • Plant Training & Assessments

  • Competent advice and assistance with SSiP Scheme and RAMS

PUWER

The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) requires users of work equipment to carry out risk assessments and provide work equipment that is suitable for its intended task and can be used without putting persons at risk. The PUWER Regulations cover any machinery, appliance, apparatus, tool or installation for use at work (whether exclusively or not) - effectively it is anything used at work.

Here at Ishi Projects we can give advice and assistance with the following;

  • Risk Assessments - A legal requirement of the Management of Health & Safety Regulations and the PUWER, and will be carried out in accordance with EN ISO 12100.

  • A Report addressing each of the 24 PUWER Regulations for each individual machine. This will show conformity or highlight non-conformities.

  • If there are any areas of concern or recommendations of control methods suggested, EN Standards will be used for the correct control measure where those Standards exist.

Food Safety

Food safety is critical aspect of design, construction and installation of all types of production equipment. This includes cleaning access to keep all equipment hygienically clean, which is significant part to maintain food safety in day to day running of food factory. Ensuring all materials used for the equipment are appropriate for the application including any food contract surfaces, which includes selecting right grade of stainless steel and correct food safe materials like conveyor belts, plastic wearing parts on the conveyors and other process/production equipment.

Others

Turnkey projects often involve extending an existing food factory or building a new food factory. These situations involve many other aspects of compliance i.e. Planning permission, Building Reg’s compliance, Utilities (power, water, trade effluent discharge) consents and others.

Ishi Projects is experienced in dealing with this and would take care of the necessary compliance’s to ensure the facility and equipment are fully compliant at start of production.
